Topic: soooo.. what do I do ??

soo i read some forums... that are years old... the manual..which is one page and not very helpful.... and i managed to build a single mine and am unable to do anything now... can someone help me out here? am i missing something? im stuck on these screens that look like a web site for a do it yourself gift shop. are there any graphics here??? do i have to wait 12 hours in between building mines effectively taking me 3 months to be able to gain resources fast enough to be able to build troops or ships? the 4 year old FAQ's dont help much so any info you all could give me would be greatly appreciated. thanks

Well... I'm not the gaming type so possibly not the most helpful to you, however the biggest piece of relevant information I can give you is that the game hasn't started yet smile It will begin tomorrow (though I don't remember what time). The game occurs in real time (so if it says your mine will take 4 hours to build, it really will). There are no fancy graphics... 10 years ago there were some rumblings of drawing pictures to animate the game, but I'm pretty sure that didn't happen!

Yes, everything is old. Mr. Postal and his elves (also known as Jacq and Mystify) went on a vacation for umm... 4ish years. That said, there are a few former players trickling back who can answer your questions if you ask politely wink

I accidentally posted this before I finished my thoughts, so am now editing it and can't see your original questions. Hope that covered most of what you need to know for now.

PS- If I were you, I'd cancel your one mine and build say... 4-6. But that's me. They will automatically start doing their thing once the game begins.

then i dont understand the allure of the game... what is the point of "playing" if you can call it that... why would anyone want to just stare at a screen not much different than the one i am typing on? Am I missing something?

We that play, are very old-fashioned. There's no graphics, the game is based on coordination, communication, and lots of screen staring (usually on alliance message boards). What you're missing is patience, the game will grow on you, give it a chance. If its not for you then I can only hope you find something worth your time.

Remember to raise the bar but do not give into astonishment.

I DL'd MIRC and i still cant get into th chat.. dont know wtf the deal is..
would like to give this game a fair shake but when I DL'd Mirc the C says it has an unknown file extension
